Performance for the City of Canning Schools Concert

A big thank you to the band members who performed last Saturday at the Canning Town Hall. Although we only had half the band you performed very professionally and were wonderful ambassadors for the school. It was a quick and slick performance for which the school received $500. Thank you to the parents for getting the students there on a Saturday. Your support is much appreciated.

Classical Guitar Concert

Please note that the date for the guitar concert has now changed. It has moved forward one day and will now be held on Thursday 27 November commencing at 6.30pm in the school hall. Anyone is invited to attend. If you are considering playing classical guitar next year, why not come and see what it's all about.

Final Rehearsals

Choirs - the last week for choir rehearsals will be week 8 of the term.

Band - Yr 6's are not required at band in week 7 or 8, which means that next Wednesday 19 November will be their last rehearsal for the year. Ms Draper only requires the 2015 band members for the last 2 weeks of term so that new music can be distributed and played before the Christmas holidays.

Congratulations Mr Grech

Our multi-talented saxophone teacher, Joe Grech, had a big weekend last weekend. His band, Timothy Nelson and the Infidels, won five awards at the WA Music Awards including best pop act and best album. Congratulations to Joe and his band.

Thanks to everyone who supported this night. We raised over $9000. Our climbing frame has been ordered and will be installed in January.

A little reminder to bring in something for our St Vincent de Paul Society Christmas Food Appeal. We have been asked to donate non perishable food items for those far less fortunate than ourselves. A flyer was sent home earlier in the term indicating the type of item we would like your class to donate. The final date for collecting these food is Friday 28 November. Thank you for providing hope, comfort and dignity to those in need of our help.
