JUNIOR CHOIR PERFORMANCE THIS SATURDAY DECEMBER 7

The Orana Junior Choir will be performing at Stockland Riverton this Saturday. Students need to meet in the mall outside Woolworths by 11 am. We will be performing at 11.15am for approximately 20 minutes before Santa arrives. Children need to be dressed in their sports uniform and a Christmas hat. They are welcome to have a Christmas t-shirt if they have one but need to wear their Orana shorts or skirt. Parents need to ensure they are available to take the children home at the conclusion of the performance.

INSTRUMENTAL ENSEMBLE PERFORMANCE MONDAY 9 DECEMBER

The flute, clarinet, saxophone and brass ensemble will be performing at St John of God Hospital, Murdoch and Stockland Riverton next Monday. Students will need to be dressed in full school uniform and a Christmas hat. They need to make sure they have music, instrument, lunch and a water bottle with them.

INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC PROGRAM 2014

Notes for a place in the music programme in 2014 must be handed in by Friday 6 December. Ms Draper has spare notes in her room if you need one.

CONTINUING STUDENTS MUST ALSO RETURN THE SLIP TO SECURE THEIR PLACE FOR NEXT YEAR.

Graduation Mass Rehearsal - Wednesday Morning

Junior and Senior Choir Members who are singing at the Yr 6 Graduation Mass on the evening of Wednesday 11 December, need to attend this rehearsal. If you are not singing at the Graduation Mass then you do not need to attend this rehearsal. Final rehearsal for the year will be Wednesday 11 December (Week 9).

RETURN OF ORANA MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS

If you are leaving Orana at the end of this year or not playing the instrument next year, you will need to return your musical instrument by Wednesday 4 December to Mrs Draper. If you are continuing on your instrument in 2014, you do not need to hand it back. You can keep it in the holidays so you can practice. If there is anything wrong with your instrument that requires a repair, please let Ms Draper know.

If you are in year 6 and planning to hire an instrument from Corpus in 2014 they are happy to organise a rental for the holidays. Ring and talk to Cath Runyon in the music office.

GUITAR CONCERT

Last Thursday was the Orana Classical Guitar Concert. It was great to see all the progress the guitarists had made this year. A big thank you to the Corpus Guitar Ensemble who performed two items for us. Thanks to Amanda Alexander who always does a fabulous job with the students and takes it upon herself to organise concerts such as this one.

UNIFORM SHOP NEWS

Kindy T Shirts

These are now available from the Uniform Shop. However, there will be a limit of one per customer until the remaining order arrives next year. Thank you for your understanding. The t-shirt cost is $20.

Homework folders will be available from the Uniform Shop for next year.

The Uniform Shop will be open on 31 January from 9.30am - 12 midday and again from 2.30pm - 5.00pm.

P & F CLASS REPRESENTATIVES 2014

A big thank you to those who have volunteered to become class representatives for the P & F in 2014. We are still in need of more volunteers for next year. Copies of the letter and nomination forms sent home last week to all families are available from the front office. It would be appreciated if you would consider being a P & F Class Representative next year.
