Dear Parents

School Sports

Yesterday we had our field events (400m, turbo-jav, shot-put and long jump) with selected students from Year 3 and above, competing in these disciplines. Thank you to Mr Chatt and to the many parents who assisted on the morning.

The second sports day with running and team events and involving students from K -6 will be held early next term, Tuesday 20 October.

Uniform (Winter to Summer)

We change from winter to summer uniform next term with a two week transition window where either uniform may be worn to school. Full summer uniform must be worn from the commencement of Week 3 next term, Monday 26 October 2015. The Uniform Shop is open on Tuesdays from 8.30am through until 10.30am. Starting term 4 the Uniform Shop will be open Tuesday 8.30am til 10.30am and again Thursday 8.30am til 10.30am.

School Term commencement

Staff will be attending a professional development day on Monday 12 October. All classes will commence for term 4 on Tuesday 13 October 2015 at the usual start time.

Staff Leaving

We farewell one staff member at this time and are most grateful for the professional service Mrs Tracy Small has given to Orana over the last two terms as the school's Social Worker. Tracy was employed when Mrs Irene Wright was on Long Service Leave and who has now tendered her resignation. Prior commitments have prevented Tracy from continuing her tenure here at Orana at this time.

Long Service Leave

Our Canteen Manager, Mrs Alison Honter will be on long service leave for the first three weeks of next term. Mrs Shelley Watkins will be the acting Canteen Manager for this period of time that Alison is away.

Miss Conny Whyte (2 weeks) and Mrs Di McKay (1 week) will also be absent for the start of the term with Mrs Michelle Davis and Mrs Anita Urquhart being the replacing teachers in their absence. Mrs Marilyn Flanagan will also be away on long service leave for the first week of term.

Mrs Kerry Marshall returns to year 3 class at the beginning of Term 4 having completed a term's long service leave. I take this opportunity to thank Mrs Urquhart for her commitment and professionalism working with Year 3W for the duration of the term.

We extend our condolences to Mrs Marilyn Flanagan on the passing of her sister; Pip, late last week and you are asked to keep Marilyn and her family in your thoughts and prayers.

Slightly longer assembly to conclude the term so this Friday's assembly will commence at 2.20pm and not 2.30pm as has been the case for the term. Next term we revert back to Friday morning assembly timeslot from the beginning of the school term. As usual all parents are most welcome to attend.
