Dear Parents

Pupil Free Days

A reminder that this Friday and next Monday are both Pupil Free Days here at Orana Catholic Primary School. As indicated previously, staff will be attending personal faith development on Friday 5 September and a "Boys in Education" seminar next Monday 8 September. All classes recommence at the usual start time next Tuesday 9 September.

School Photos

Thanks to all for the extra effort in ensuring that the school photos were completed successfully this week. The usual turn around time for photos coming back to the school is between 4 to 6 weeks.

Father's Day Breakfast

Thank you once again to the generous Mums on the P&F who have again gone to great lengths to ensure that the Father's Day Breakfast (tomorrow morning at school from 7.30am) will be a success.

Parent Information Evening (Year 3 Parents)

I would like to invite parents with a child currently in Year 3 here to attend a meeting to discuss the 1:1 Laptop Programme for the 2015 school year. The meeting is scheduled for the evening of Wednesday 17 September to be held in the Library commencing at 7.00pm. It is expected that there be at least one parent from each family present at this meeting. The meeting will provide an outline to the 2015 Laptop Programme as well as provide an opportunity to clarify and discuss some key issues associated with the programme. Next week Year 3 parents will be given the opportunity to raise any questions and make comments related to the programme through Survey Monkey, these to be addressed during the meeting. In preparation for the survey, a note has been sent home with the students today requesting a current and accurate email address. I would appreciate that form being returned to school by Tuesday 9 September.

Book Launch

One of our ex-Orana students, Lil-Jasmine Miller (Class of 2013) has written a book entitled "Ella's Story". The book is to be launched here at school during the Friday whole school assembly on Friday 12 September. Discount vouchers for the purchase of one of these books have been made available for all associated with the school. Part proceeds from sales of the book will go to the Australian Mitachondrial Disease Foundation. To purchase copies please call Sorelle on 0414 354 313. Your support for this worthy cause is very much appreciated.
