Performing Arts News

After 5 weeks of performances, our final two students performed in the piano solo section yesterday at the Festival. Congratulations to Sam and Ethan.

School Open Night

Next Wednesday evening the school band, various ensembles and soloists will be performing in the undercover area as part of the school open night. The students will be showcasing all their hard work and items that have been presented at the Performing Arts Festival over the month of August.

Change to Band Rehearsal - Week 7

Band rehearsal will move to Tuesday next week (Tuesday 3 September) instead of Thursday due to preparation for the school open night. Junior Choir will recommence rehearsals in Week 8 on Tuesday 10th September.

Donate a Book Initiative

During Open Night, there will be a display of books in the Library from Westbooks. Families are invited to donate a book from the display to the Orana Library. Cash, cheque and EFTpos are available payment options.

PARENTING AFTERNOON TEAS TERM 3 2013

COME & JOIN US - PRE-KINDY TO YEAR 6 MUMS AND DADS

Enjoy an hour of coffee / tea drinking with no cleaning, cooking, telephone, bills, memos, meetings, emails…………..

Meet other parents, learn more about parenting and share ideas of parenting successes and challenges. Our School Social Worker, Irene Wright will be running a series of three Parenting Workshops in August and September. These will take place in the ORANA HALL MEETING ROOM from 1.30pm until 3.00pm.

Each session will run independent from others and it is therefore not essential to attend all. There will be a presentation plus the opportunity for discussion and handouts will be available along with information on community resources. ATTENDANCE IS FREE! Young children are welcome, however no crèche facilities are available.

Come along - beat the parking lot rush, enjoy the coffee, company and learn more about children of the C21.

Fr Justin is a Franciscan priest of the Sacred Heart Province with headquarters in St Louis, Missouri, USA. He is an international, inspirational speaker with over 30 years experience. His expertise is spirituality and meditation. He holds degrees in philosophy, theology, and music as well as certification in administration. He has presented workshops, seminars, retreats, parish renewals throughout the world both to religious and secular audiences.

Fr Justin's goal is to help people of every age, race or religion to find their way to a full and happy life, promised to us by Jesus. He believes that meditation is the key to achieving this goal. By turning inward, a person is able to tap into a source of unlimited energy and integrate mind, body and spirit.

Club Cricket for Kids with All Abilities

Cricket Champs is an awesome new cricket program designed for kids with all abilities. It gives you the chance to join a great community Junior Cricket Club, make new friends and have a bunch of fun learning and playing cricket in a program designed just for you. Cricket Champs is open to all kids aged 6-16 who for whatever reason aren't quite ready for mainstream teams. Brothers and sisters are also more than welcome to join in the fun too. Cricket Champs is a 12 week skills development program run once per week for about an hour and a half. If you miss a session or two that's OK, you can join at any time and it's still great value.
