Father's Day Breakfast - a flyer has been sent home confirming that the Orana Father's Day Breakfast will be held on Thursday, 29 August. Orders must be returned by Friday, 23 August to ensure you don't miss out. Volunteers are needed to prepare, serve and tidy up on the day. Donate a book to the school library - following the success of the 2012 event, families will have the opportunity to donate a book to the school library during open evening on Wednesday, 4 September. Please visit the library on the evening if you would like to participate. A selection of the latest titles from Westbooks will be available for purchase. Cheques, cash or EFTpos are available as payment options.

Toy Catalogues - are being sent home with children in junior classes this week. Orders need to be returned by Thursday, 26 September to ensure delivery in time for Christmas. Please contact Dani Murray if you have any questions

Family Portraits - we have arranged for Advanced Family Portraits to come to Orana on the weekend of 26 & 27 October to take photos of Orana families and friends. Further information on the event will be available nearer the date.

School Disco - Please put Friday, 8 November in your diary for coming to the school disco. Further information on this will be available nearer the date.

Cards & Calendars - due to the success of the event in previous years, we will be repeating the cards and calendars fundraiser in 2013. The timeline is currently being finalised to ensure that orders are delivered in plenty of time to use as Christmas gifts. Please watch this space for further information on the event.

Congratulations to both our choirs who performed again this week, this time in the Primary Choral Section of the Performing Arts Festival. The Junior Choir performed on Monday morning and the Senior Choir on Wednesday afternoon. There will be over 100 primary school choirs participating in this section this week.

The School Band then headed up to Sacred Heart Sorrento on Wednesday night to perform first in the evening ahead of a number of high school bands.

This morning saw seven of our wind soloists strut their stuff at Zenith Music in Claremont.

Congratulations to all our students on your fine performances.

Next week will see our final few students participate in the piano solos.

Meet other parents, learn more about parenting and share ideas of parenting successes and challenges. Our School Social Worker, Irene Wright will be running a series of three Parenting Workshops in August and September. These will take place in the ORANA HALL MEETING ROOM from 1.30pm until 3.00pm.

Each session will run independent from others and it is therefore not essential to attend all. There will be a presentation plus the opportunity for discussion and handouts will be available along with information on community resources. ATTENDANCE IS FREE! Young children are welcome, however no crèche facilities are available.

Come along - beat the parking lot rush, enjoy the coffee, company and learn more about children of the C21.

The Chalk and Parent Direct Toy Catalogues will be coming home this week. This is an ideal way to sort out some early Christmas shopping from the comfort of your home, while raising money to help the school. For every $1 spent through the catalogues, Orana will receive $0.20 to spend on toys and equipment. In order to get delivery before the end of Term 4, orders need to be returned to the office by Thursday September 26th (last day of term 3).
