A gold coin donation is required to take part. Parents are also invited to bring a book (and a coin) in to swap. The big swap will happen on Thursday 22 August from 2.30pm in the Hall. All donations will be sent to the Indigenous Children's Literacy Fund. Andrea Woodgate, Assistant Principal.

ABSENTEE NOTIFICATION

From the commencement of this term we have been sending SMS messages to parents if any of their children are marked absent on the class rolls without a note from parents advising of the child's absence. The SMS message informs you that your child has been marked absent and asks you to return a note to the school upon their return. The preferred methods of advising the office of absences are:

The necessary components of the note, in order to satisfy Education Department requirements, are:

  • name of the student

  • the class / roll group of the student

  • the reason for the absence

  • the date of the absence

  • the full name of the parent / guardian at the end of the message (the 'from' email address is not sufficient as it does not necessarily have the full name of the person sending it).

COLLECTING STUDENTS DURING THE SCHOOL DAY

If you are collecting your child during the school day then you MUST come through the school office before proceeding to class to collect your child. Staff will not release children from class unless the parent produces a release note from the office authorising the collection of the child.

SCHOOL PHOTOS

Photos will take place on Tuesday 3 September and Wednesday 4 September. A personalised envelope has been sent home with each student. Consider your options and return the envelope to the class teacher by Friday 30 August. Please note that you now have the option of placing your photo order online instead of filling in the pre-paid envelope, Please refer to your child's envelope for details (ring 9342 3465 if you have any queries). If you have placed your order online there is no need to return your envelope to school. If you have not placed an order you may still order online up to six days after the last photo day as all students will have an individual portrait taken whether purchasing photos or not. Any orders placed after this date will incur a late fee. Conny Whyte, Assistant Principal

FAMILY PHOTO

If you wish to have a family photo, please collect this special envelope from the school office as soon as possible. Carefully read all instructions on the ordering envelope as money may be in one envelope and recorded on another. No envelopes should be placed inside another envelope. Please note that family photos cannot be ordered online. All students will have the opportunity to purchase Specialist Group Photos (e.g. choir), once the photos have been delivered to the school, at $15 each. More information related to group photos will be given at a later date. If you have any further questions please call in to speak with me. Conny Whyte, Assistant Principal
