Transfigure us this very day, as we open our hearts to the radiance of Christ in each other, in song, in word and witness.

May this be the day of our enlightenment when we see with clarity the sacred life we are called to manifest.

Remake us as sacraments of the Holy, that we might embrace our calling, to see with new eyes, reach out with gentle hands, imagine with transformed mind, be still with Your holy Presence and be filled with grateful prayers.

In the name of the Transfigured one we pray. Amen

Dear Parents/Carers

It is a busy time at Orana with the students from Years Three and Five completing the Bishops' Religious Literacy Assessment this week. We also have a large number of students taking part in the Australian Mathematics Competition sponsored by the Commonwealth Bank. Thank you to the parents who assisted with supervision. Next week the Year Five students will undertake the Western Australian Monitoring Standards in Education (WAMSE) tests. There are two components to these tests, Science and Society and Environment. We wish the students all the best in their endeavours.

Sacramental Meeting

This evening the Year 6 students and their parents will attend workshops (5.30pm or 7pm) as part of their preparation for the sacrament of Confirmation. The workshops will take place at the parish hall at Sts John & Paul Church. Please keep these families in your prayers.

Performing Arts

The Performing Arts for Catholic Schools and Colleges is now underway. Four Year Six students attended the opening mass at St Mary's Cathedral last Thursday. Two students have participated in the Bible Reading section, receiving encouraging comments. Our music ensembles were given positive feedback when they participated on Wednesday. Approximately 19580 students will be involved in the festival during August.

2014 Planning

If there are families in the school community who will not be returning for the 2014 school year please notify the school office in writing as soon as possible.

Cross Country

Cross country training is now well underway with approximately fifty students attending this morning. Mrs Wesley will continue to run the training sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. Thank you to the students and parents who are making the effort to attend.

School's Week Display - Stockland Riverton

A school display has been set up at Riverton Shopping Centre. A variety of students' work samples are on display between Wednesday, 31 July and Sunday, 4 August. Hopefully many families from our community will have the opportunity to view this display. Many thanks to the students and teachers for their contributions.

Assembly

This Friday there will be a whole school prayer assembly at 8.50am. The Junior Choir will sing for us as part of their preparation for the Performing Arts Festival. Junior honour awards will be announced. All families are welcome to attend.
