Corpus Music Concerts

Our guitar ensemble will be participating in the Semester One Classical Guitar Concert at Corpus Christi on Saturday 27 June between 3.30 - 5.00 pm. Students are asked to arrive by 3.05pm to tune up. Guitar ensemble members will have received a note from Mrs Alexander.

The Corpus Music Night

Will be on Tuesday 30 June commencing at 7pm. We have been invited to take 2-3 items to perform on this night. Ideally we would like a couple of ensembles and maybe a soloist. We would be on early in the night so our students can get home. A note has gone home this week to see who is available before our items are decided. Ms Draper needs these back by this Friday, 19 June.

Year 5/6 Music

Students in Year 5 and 6 have been learning about the science of acoustics, how sounds are made and the different families of musical instruments. We are now busy designing and building our own musical instruments. Students will need to bring their materials in next week in order to start making their designs. They are working with a partner and making them in class time. Some preparation may be done at home but they need to make them at school.

Living the Joy of the Gospel Parish Retreat 27 June

In honour of our Parish feast day on 27 June and the 30th Anniversary of the Consecration of the Church, Fr Thai and Fr Joe are pleased to invite all parish ministry leaders, members and parishioners to celebrate by attending the Parish Retreat on Saturday 27 June. Be inspired to reflect on how Pope Francis set the way for Catholics to proclaim the Gospel with the joy that comes from living the call of Jesus. Its aim is to offer parishioners the opportunity to reflect on the Exhortation, Evangelii Gaudium and bring the Parish Community closer to the reality of Jesus in the lives of its members.

Sr Margaret Scharf, OP will be our esteemed and lively facilitator who will lead us with joyful music and singing. Please come and spend the morning discovering how to "Go forth, be involved, supportive, bear fruit and rejoice" commencing with 9.00am Mass. Please RSVP by 20 June by placing your name on the clip boards in the foyer of the church as lunch will be provided. Betty Thompson.

Know somone inquiring about the Catholic Faith?

The Rite of Catholic Initiation for Adults prepares new members to join our Catholic faith; and helps baptised Catholics in renewing their faith. Faith development and growth is achieved in a friendly atmosphere, through presentations, sharing and reflection. Under the guidance of our team and accompanied by friends (sponsors), the candidates took a spiritually enriched journey, culminating in their reception into the Church on Easter Vigil night. RCIA for 2015/16 will commence Tuesday 21 July. The parish of Willetton invites all who are interested in the Catholic faith to an Information evening on Tuesday 30 June from 7.30pm-9.00pm at the Parish Centrein the Large Meeting Room. If you or someone you know has expressed an interest in the Catholic faith, please come along. If you are a baptised Catholic and would like to help the candidates on their spiritual journey, there are a variety of roles you can play, ranging from prayer, hospitality to travelling companions.
