Dear Parents

Orana Catholic Primary School lost a most valuable staff member this week with the passing of Mrs Jacqui Earl. Jacqui began working at Orana in 2004 and continued as a Special Needs Education Assistant working with many children throughout her ten years here. Her employment was primarily as a Special Needs EA, however Jacqui has over the years worked with many students and will be remembered for helping a whole number of children at some time during their time at the school.

It was Jacqui's innate ability to ensure inclusivity was put into practice on a daily basis that will be fondly remembered. That and the way she went about her work quietly and efficiently, always with a positive outlook to the situation in which she found herself working. Jacqui undertook many roles that others would find uncomfortable or confronting, always with the utmost dignity and respect for the individual at hand first and foremost. She was a most humble and gentle person who will be particularly missed by staff here who have the greatest respect for Jacqui and hold her in the highest regard.

Our condolences and deepest sympathy to her husband Colin and four children, Daniel, David, Genevieve and Georgina.

May she rest in peace.

Our condolences are also extended to Mrs Fabiola Verrecchia (EA Kindergarten) on the passing of her Father-In-Law, Eugenio Verrecchia, in Italy last weekend. May he too rest in peace.

ANZAC Service

Thank you to those who attended the school's ANZAC Service last Friday. The commemorative service was an appropriate and meaningful tribute to all those who have served this country over the different wars and campaigns. Thank you to those families who shared their own personal ANZAC stories and to the Year 5 teachers, Mrs Tormay, Mrs Davis and Miss Whyte for preparing the service.
