Attendance at Rehearsals

Choir and band rehearsals are scheduled before school so that we minimize disruption to the school day. Thank you to those wonderful people who always turn up on time.

It is concerning that we have a very large number of people missing choir rehearsals. If children turn up late I would much rather they come to choir late than not at all. We have lots of parts to practise and we have a huge amount of work still to do before the Performing Arts Festival and we need everyone there in order to rehearse effectively. You wouldn't get a game with your sports team on the weekend if you don't turn up to training!

When children commit to choir or learning an instrument, the commitment is for the full school year. Learning to commit is a great attribute that children will take forward for the rest of their lives. If we allow them to give up easily we are losing a valuable lesson.

BASKETBALL LIGHTNING CARNIVAL

Thank you to everybody who tried out for the interschool basketball teams. With so many talented players, I had a very difficult time cutting the numbers down. Successful team members will receive a permission slip to be signed and returned to school ASAP. Parent helpers will also be notified. Mrs Davis will contact players about training shortly. Good luck at the carnival!
