Come Holy Spirit

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.

Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created.

And You shall renew the face of the earth.

O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations,

Through Christ Our Lord,

Dear Parents and Carers

This Sunday we celebrate Pentecost Sunday. After Jesus rose from the dead he remained with his disciples on earth until he ascended into Heaven with the promise of sending us his Holy Spirit. We celebrated the feast of the Ascension last Sunday. Pentecost Sunday marks the end of the Easter season. Let us remember that each of us has been gifted with the Holy Spirit at our Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation and that we can call on the Spirit at any time for guidance, strength and courage.

Sacramental Information

Please keep our Year Four students in your prayers as they prepare for their First Holy Communion. Two parent/child workshops will be held this Thursday at 5.30pm and 7.00pm.

School Mass

The Mass listed for Tuesday 21 May will no longer take place. We will now include special prayers at our school assembly on Friday 24 May, which is the actual feast day for "Our Lady Help of Christians".

Parking Information

To assist with the smooth operation in the "Kiss & Drive" area please note the following:

  • T he area in front of the green shed is a "NO PARKING" zone before 9.00am and after 2.30pm.

  • Drivers must remain in their cars at all times. If you would like to get out of your car for any reason please find a parking bay (bays are usually available after 3.20pm).

If a relative or family friend is responsible for dropping off or picking up your child please pass on this important information.

It is also vital that only cars with "ACROD" stickers use the disabled parking bays outside the school administration area. These bays must be available for a number of students and families in our community and your cooperation would be greatly appreciated.

Performing Arts Festival for Catholic Schools and Colleges

This year we have had a record number of entries for the Performing Arts Festival. Our entries include band and choir items, instrumental solos, duets & ensembles, vocal solos and piano solos. For the first time we have Bible Reading entries.

The festival begins with a Mass at St Mary's Cathedral on Thursday, 25 July and culminates with a Festival Concert at the Perth Concert Hall on Monday, 16 September. During the month of August students from catholic schools in Western Australia participate at a variety of venues, sharing their talents with others.

Inter-School Sport

This week our Year 5 & 6 students will have the opportunity to play a variety of games with Yidarra Catholic School. Students will be playing football, soccer, netball or volleyball. These games rely on the assistance of many parents and we appreciate the time given by our parents. We wish the teams all the best and we look forward to good sportsmanship.
