Instrumental Music Program

If there are any new families to the school wishing to learn a musical instrument at Orana in 2014 please see Ms Draper in the music room to discuss as soon as possible.

Saxophone, Flute, Clarinet, Brass and Classical Guitar lessons will commence this week. Percussion, and Bass/Electric Guitar will commence in week 2. Timetables will be displayed on the pinup board outside the music room. Students need to ensure that all musical instruments are stored in the band room during the school day. There is no space in classrooms to store them and they should not be left out on benches. Ms Draper will take any that she finds left outside rooms. The band room will be accessible during recess and lunch lessons.

Assistance with Fees - Health Care Card Tuition Fee Discount Scheme

The Catholic Bishops of Western Australia are determined that no family be denied the opportunity of education in a Catholic school because of financial difficulties.

The Health Care Card Tuition Fee Discount Scheme was implemented in 2005 and offers discount on tuition fees to holders of a means-tested family Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card. The scheme offers significant, automatic tuition fee discounts to both Catholic and non-Catholic families.

Families that qualify for the scheme will pay AU$ 230 for kindergarten and primary school tuition fees and AU$1400 for secondary school tuition fees for 2014. Specific charges such as subject and building levies and excursion costs will still apply, however these can also be discussed with the Principal.

If you hold a current Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card please provide a copy of this to the school office and complete the relevant documentation.
