Dear Lord,

Hear my prayers.

In the chaos that sometimes rules my life, I need the soothing stillness of Your voice.

Let my every breath be a prayer of peace, my every action a reflection of Your serenity.

Amen

Dear Parents and Carers

Inter School Swimming Carnival

Next Tuesday our swimming team will be representing Orana at the CPSSA Swimming Carnival to be held at the Rockingham Aquatic Centre. We wish them well in their events and thank the parents for their on-going support.

Student Absentee Information

We have received notification from the Catholic Education Office that signed sick notes are required when a child is absent from school, even when an absence is advised by electronic means.

If your child is absent from school the following process should be followed:

1. On the day your child is absent please send an email with the necessary details to - admin@orana.wa.edu.au

OR

go to the school website http://web.orana.wa.edu.au and use the link "Tell us your child is absent today", fill out the form and submit.

(Last year's mobile number is no longer valid).

2. When your child returns to school they must bring a signed and dated note stating the reason for the absence plus the dates the child was absent.

The new program being adopted by Orana should be fully in place early next term when you will be notified of any further changes to this process. We apologise for any confusion that has taken place.

Lapathon

The P&F would like to acknowledge and thank Mrs Perrigo for planning, organizing and coordinating our school lapathon that will be held this Friday (12 April). The money raised from this event will enable our students to participate in the EduDance program which is an exciting and enjoyable experience. The lapathon will be held after the morning assembly and parents are welcome to stay and support their children. All students may wear their sports uniform to school on Friday.

Mission Day

The final event for Project Compassion will be a Market Day for the missions. This will be held next Thursday (18 April), between morning tea and lunch. Each class will participate as follows: 1B Colouring Competition, Year 2 Lucky Dips, Year 3 Toy & DVD stall, Year 4 Game stall, 5B Book Sale, 5W and their buddy class 1W will sell Lolly Baskets, 6B Nail Polish and 6W Coin Toss on the Can.

Students have been asked to do jobs at home to earn money for the day or to bring in some of their pocket money. This is a fun day for the children and they raise money for a good cause at the same time.
