MUSIC NEWS

Band and Choir Photos

A copy of the School Band, Junior and Senior Choir photos are now in the front office for viewing. Payment and orders can be placed with the office staff.

School Concert

All Senior Choir members and some Band members will be involved in all four performances of our school musical "The Land of Oz." They will be required both on the White and Blue performance days. Costume for the non-performance day should be the same costume as the one they are wearing for their own class performance.

Band Rehearsal Week 2

Due to the Athletics Carnival next Tuesday morning (23 October) there will not be a band rehearsal. A number of beginners are joining the band this term. A note should have gone home to you about this already.

Some students are not attending Band Rehearsals if they arrive late to school. We would prefer students attend Band Rehearsals late rather tham missing them altogether.

Choir Rehearsal

Senior Choir rehearsal will commence again next Monday morning at 8.15am.

Junior Choir rehearsals will recommence again in Week 4 of this term once the school concert is finished.

Instrumental Music Diaries

As part of the Instrumental Music Program all students have a music diary in which to record homework and practice. It is important that parents sign these every week as it is a useful communication tool between parents and instrumental teachers.

Australian Girls Choir Open Day

Some of our students in Years 2-6 participated in an assessment workshop last term. This week, the girls in Year 1 have received a flyer about the AGC Open Day. Everyone is welcome to attend. There will be free classes and information sessions. There are not enough flyers to distribute to Pre Primary but if anyone is interested, some spare flyers are in the front office.

ATHLETICS CARNIVAL

All students need to wear their sports uniform with faction shirts on Tuesday 23 October. Please remember to be Sun Smart and put sunscreen on your child before school. All students must stay for presentations after which they may be collected from the oval by parents.
