Opening and Blessing of New Learning Areas

On Friday 4 May 2012, members of the school community and honoured guests gathered to celebrate the official opening and blessing of new and refurbished buildings at our school. Through the BER Program, the Commonwealth Government provided $3,177,540 for the enhancement of Orana Catholic Primary School.

Congratulations were extended to the Principal, the School Board and staff who put so much effort into turning all their plans and dreams into a reality. The beautifully enhanced school buildings and grounds are a credit to them and should evoke a sense of pride in all who come to work and play here.

The school opened 32 years ago. Like so many schools built in the 1970's and 1980's to serve far-spreading suburbs, the early years were not always easy for Orana. The facilities we take for granted today are the result of faith, vision, commitment and fundraising. It has taken 30 years of hard work to create the school we have today.

The strong sense of school community and 'can do' attitude of the early years still permeates the school today. This spirit of enthusiasm and excellence is evident in this school where each day is a new beginning and an opportunity for new learning adventures.
