To commemorate our very successful school production, The Land of Oz, a DVD record of our Evening performances has been produced for our families.

With only a few weeks of school left, please don't delay in ordering your copy. Spare order forms are available at the Front Office and the Library.

Aboriginal disadvantage was one of the focal points of our musical. In an effort to highlight the role our children will play in being part of the generation for change, we learned Hands Across Australia and created our school's rap. We filmed our choir and rappers and submitted our entry to the Australian School of Performing Arts. We were among 180 schools across Australia who entered the CREATivE CHANGE Song Competition. This morning, the winners were announced nationally and although Orana was not on the Winner's list, we certainly know we had a huge win internally. Students right through the school can be heard reciting the rap and this bodes well for their understanding of who they are and what they must stand for as they grow into adults who decide to make a difference.

In our school of many cultures, our children get on very well together and their actions towards each other are constantly referenced to our school values of Generosity, Respect and Excellence. We hope our vision of New Day, New Adventure inspires them to seek a better understanding of their place in the wider Australian community and their role in healing relationships harmoniously. We hope they learn to speak out and stand strong with a spirit of reconciliation as they build a better future for our nation.
